Wintersday - When
Like many people i'll most likely be away from the PC on Christmas day, choosing to spend my time with family and friends.
However like most GW players I also like my trinkets, funny hats and other such storage absorbing memorobelia.
Please AN/Gaile/Frog/Mini Varesh in a matchbox can you let us know when said trinkets will be handed out. Will it be Christmas day, Eve, the Weekend before or after. I don't need to know what they are, what one needs to do to obtain one just the date.
As we all start to make festive plans it would be nice to know so we can ensure our storage is bulging for another year and not miss out on any festivities GW has to offer.
Regards
Shan

Well, last year it started just before Christmas. They had Snowball Fights (FTW!) going the whole time and the Holiday collectors were around, too. But the main event was on New Year's Eve, not Christmas.

I bought the game just before christmas last year, so when I came in Ascalon City the first time it was allready snowy and with Christmas trees, and those goblins which smash gift-boxes out of your hands (I loved those). It was such a shock to find Ascalon City muddy and boring after the event :P
I still got candy cane shards, hehe

I still have candy canes from last year!
I forget they're in my inventory.
I, too, would like to know when, so I can solidify my plans.

We don't have the exact days for the Wintersday Festival set out quite yet, but I imagine the big folderol could take place on New Year's Day, as it did last year. Again, that's speculation, not an official pronouncement.
We will have more details in the next week or two!

Aw man... New Years is a time for going to a different city and getting trashed. Not staying at home playing Guild Wars.

It went for weeks last year, and the actual day that we got the Yule Caps and Grenth Horns was New Years Eve as I remember (might have been New Years Day though).
several days after Christmas

Last year it was New Year's Eve, not New Years Day, and because of that i was able to get only one Yule Cap by leaving my char under the xmas tree. This time too I would prefer the most important day of the event to be 1st January (or even 2nd) so I won't miss anything.

Yeah I missed the last Wintersday in Guild Wars and probably this one too because I am usually on holiday or with family/friends or getting drunk or anywhere where my computer isn't.

Wintersday was a great event. I loved snow covered ascalon. The snowball fights and the random presents that would pop up that you had to give to the children for a reward were great fun.

It was on New Year's Eve/Day last year.
But remember Wintersday is not xmas! It is the Tyria new year.

I would like something similar to the jade wind orbs collector, who stayed in Shing Jea for a week after the Dragon event.
Probably I'll be able to log only randomly during the holiday period, so I would like to collect things and then have the possibility to get the rewards when I come back.

Last time i was able to attend the finale, because a good friend i usually celebrate the new year with was in the hospital. I don't want to have this 'luck' again. Setting the finale of a week long event on new year's eve was was very bad decision (the beta weekend one year before was postponed by a week). Please move away the final event from a real world date, or add event hat traders like during the Dragon Festival.

Last time we had a house party and I was checking on the pc every so often to make sure that everything is ok and I got my hats and stuff especially that there were 2 and I wanted both for a couple of characters.
This year it will be differet and I really hope that they introduce an NPC that gives out the hats after the event is done just like the Dragon festival.
New years is different than Halloween in which its not expected for people to be glued to their PC to get treats.
